Anniversary trip to Fredericksburg
Brandon and I have been together officially a decade! So to celebrate we decided to have a mini getaway. We originally were going to go to Galveston, but because of the weather we had to change locations last minute. I'm so happy we did because we ended up having such a wonderful stay. We hadn't been to Fredericksburg since we got engaged 4 years prior so how appropriate that we would be there again for our ten year anniversary! The place we stayed I found through www.visitfredericksburgtx.com which gave me so many more options that I couldn't find just through any other websites. It ended up being at a beautiful house in the historic district of Fredericksburg conveniently located only a few blocks from Main Street. The house was called 2 Sisters which is split into two separate accommodations, one being Lauren's Loft and the other being Shannon's Suite which is the one we stayed in. It was so welcoming and cozy and the decor was superb! I was trying to avoid staying at any BnBs that have that typical BnB feel, you know what I'm talking about - weird creepy doll collection, floral paintings in every room, a fifteen year old recliner chair, you get the gist. Shannon's Suite was modern, rustic, and chic all at the same time. It still had that small town charm while still being stylish and updated. Not only was it aesthetically pleasing but it also included your own personal hot-tub outside and a jetted bathtub inside for that perfect romantic getaway.
In addition to having a relaxing stay at our BnB we also ventured out, ate some German food, drank some locally brewed beer, and had some wine off Main Street. *Side note: its legal to drink wine or beer while walking around to explore Main Street!*
On our last day in Fredericksburg we decided to climb Enchanted Rock. Ironically enough its where Brandon had originally planned on proposing. Needless to say we slept in and the proposal ended up totally different, but thats another story for another day! This time we DIDNT sleep in and went and climbed that bad boy and it was so much fun!
This was an anniversary I will forever remember. We had such a great time together and felt refreshed the rest of the week. If you have any questions about our trip feel free to ask in the comments! Cheers! xo
